An air conditioning unit is a must in homes anywhere in the United States as the summer can be intensely hot. As an AC owner, you must look in advance for a local AC company that you can call in case your AC breaks down. You will never know when AC issues strike. Some issues might arise unexpectedly and you need to be ready to deal with any sorts of problems your unit may experience.

Below are the most common AC problems that require AC Repair Arcadia AZ:

Internal Fan Malfunctioning

Two fans work together to make cooler air pass into a room, driving the warmer air out of the premises. In case these fans show signs of malfunction, you will be exposed to serious AC-related problems. You should not let the problem grow because a damaged fan can result in ineffective room cooling.

Frozen Evaporator Coils

The evaporator coil of your air conditioner is filled with refrigerant that absorbs the heat from the air like a sponge. But, the coils need warm air circulating them so they can work properly. If something goes wrong with the airflow and the evaporator coil gets too cold, ice can build up on the outside. If this takes place, you can expect to get warm air or none at all coming from the supply registers of your AC.

Lower Refrigerant Levels

If your AC is not cooling your room, it may have a refrigerant problem. The presence of adequate refrigerant inside your AC makes it possible to cool the entire room. But, if the refrigerant lines are leaking, your AC will not work optimally. In this case, you need to contact an HVAC company to fix the problem for you.

Thermostat Issues

Thermostat-related issues are common, especially in the old dial-type versions. The old generation of thermostats can be incorrectly calibrated which leads to your AC not getting the right instructions from the control system. This problem can be fixed by replacing or recalibrating the thermostats.

Moreover, new programmable thermostats may not be easy to program and can also be set incorrectly. Check the instructions written in the manual to ensure the settings of the thermostat are set correctly.

Leaking Ducts

The ductwork that runs through the ceilings and walls carries the cooled air from the AC throughout the room. But, if there are holes or breaks in the ducts, the cooled air winds up inside the walls. This problem causes the AC unit to work harder and drive up your energy bills.
