There are many countries in the world where during summer season, the temperature becomes too high and it is unbearable to stay in the room without using any kind of air-cooling arrangements.
Even in the European countries too, due to global warming the condition is changing very rapidly and people have started using best air conditioners to maintain the room temperature at comfortable level.
Following are different types of air conditioners available that you can select to cool your room based on the type and design of your room.
- Portable air conditioners
These air conditioners can easily be moved from one place to the other and can refresh the room with cool air that removes hot air and humidity. They vent out hot air outside.
Advantage of such air conditioner is that they don’t need any installation and can be moved to any room. However, they can be little noisy and not so efficient like other types of ACs.
- Window air conditioners
These type of air conditioners are generally mounted on the window of the room where cool air will be thrown inside the room and hot air will be thrown outside. You have to create space for fitting on the window based on the size of the air conditioner.
These air conditioners are quite efficient however can produce little noise when it is running.
- Through-the-wall air conditioners
These types of air conditioners are also similar to above window air conditioners, and they are window-style ACs which is designed instead of installing through wall inside chassis sleeve.
Unlike window units, typically this type of AC will not have any venting mechanisms on both side of that may lower the cooling efficiency. You may however get such AC in high cooling capacities as compared to window AC models.
- Ductless mini-split air conditioners
These ACs have become quite popular these days as they are much efficient, noiseless and suitable for both home as well as offices. There is no need of ducting like any central air conditioners and has two basic parts.
The cooling unit is installed inside the room where there are compressors and the exhaust unit is mounted outside and connected through cables.
- Packaged terminal air conditioners
Generally, this type of air conditioner is preferred in hotels, offices or assisted living facilities.
Though such kind of ACs is more popular in hospitality industry, however they are also installed in sun rooms or other residential spaces. Typically, they are installed through external wall above floor and sometimes under a window.
