Monday night, the Home Guides hosted a Western Round-up in the Lockwood Prairie Space. The evening started off slow, but in no time at all, the Prairie began to see a steady flow of cowboys and cowgirls arriving.
In order to remain sociable with those who hadn’t purchased a horse or those who were unable to get through the gate due to technical issues, the posse clustered near the gates.
For the most part, attendees dressed up in their best western clothes, but a few chose to wear their normal outfits. Below you can see me in my cowgirl getup, I would have worn a hat but they never did suit my avatar.
The visitor on the right looked very festive in her pink sombrero. Meanwhile, Mountie Ixarix stopped to pose for a picture. Sporting his new Mountie outfit from Lockwood, he is more than ready for Canada Day!
The star of the evening, Sheriff Dod was very sociable as he made his rounds, unfortunately, like many others that evening, he was eventually booted offline.
While the event was full of cowboys and cowgirls, no western themed party would be complete without a few Indians. These two made their appearance riding some very beautiful horses.
Even the chief showed up for the celebration.
Before the evening was over, the guides announced that we would be participating in a Horse race around the prairie. Kozzmo was to judge the race and the winner would be awarded any prize from the gift machine totaling 256 tokens.
After a few failed attempts at following directions, the contestants were finally lined up in the correct area and the race began.
Starting off in the lead, I quickly fell to middle of the crowd after cursing my square button a few times.
Overall, the Western Round-up was quite an enjoyable experience.
If your interested in participating in any of this week’s events, it’s not too late, there are still two more events taking place.
