“In the City of Flowers Penthouse, Begin your luxurious life.” – Granzella

Ah Paris, the city of lights, the city of love and the city of flowers. Thanks to Granzella, we have been given the opportunity to travel great distances and experience Paris from the comforts of our Living room.

When I first heard that Granzella was releasing a Penthouse, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect but I knew that Granzella always goes the extra-mile with their spaces and knew that it would be something special. Imagine my surprise when I logged onto Home and found that the space was available for $3.49! I was ecstatic, to be honest, the price alone had me sold on the space without knowing any of the details. Once I had a chance to officially check it out, I was pleasantly surprised to find that this space is worth a whole lot more and I’ll explain why.

The Penthouse consists of six rooms; a Great Room, a Bedroom, Kitchen, Dining Room, Full Bath and a Half Bath. It also has a large balcony overlooking the city, you can even see the Eiffel Tower in the distance. In each room, you have the ability to alter the lighting, background music, carpets and curtains. (I will get to these options later.)

This is the front entrance, your guests will spawn here. There is a light switch behind the plant on the left, you can alter the rug at the doorway by turning it on/off. You can also change the time of day, music and the lighting.

In the Hallway, there is an option for only one picture frame, (at the entryway).

Down the hallway you will notice three doors on your left, one in the middle and two on the right. The rugs going down the hallway can be purchased for 99 cents and come in brown, white or black. Once you purchase a carpet you have the ability to equip it in almost every room of this space and you will be given this throw rug to use in any other personal space you own. If you own more than one color of rug, you will have the ability to alter the colors of the rugs not only in each room, but you will be able to set each room a different color. This is a very nice addition, something that Home users have been begging for since they gave us the Harbor Studio!

In the first door on the left, you will find the half bathroom. In this room you can toggle the mat on and off once you purchase a carpet. You can also alter the lighting, change the background music or color of the toilet. There are two toilets available for purchase (Grey and Black). If you already own a toilet, you may be dissapointed that you have to purchase this toilet to be able to install it in the bathrooms, but it is definitely worth it. The toilets cost $1.49 for each separate color.  They have a cool animation feature when you approach them as the lid will magically lift. You can sit on it and take a picture if you like, but I spared you this time. Once you purchase the toilet, whichever color you bought, you will also be able to place it in any personal space.  But I warn you, the toilet is very low to the ground, anywhere besides this apartment.

This is the other side of the half bath. It has a built in shelf/sink combo with a towel rack.

Across the hall, I have made this room my Formal Dining Room. Everybody needs a place where they can entertain dinner guests.

In this room there is an option to hang two picture frames. In here, I have chosen to put carpet down and I have also hung some curtains. Earlier, I visited my friends space and absolutely loved the way she decorated it by using a black and white contrast. Unfortunately, after making my purchase, I realized she used white rugs and black curtains! But I still love my black rugs.  I could do without the white curtains though. You can choose to have the curtains open or closed and of course you can change the colors depending on your inventory. Curtains cost: 99 cents for each color. Not only will you be able to add or change your curtains in the Penthouse, but you will receive a nice Luxurious Partition to use in any space you choose.

Beside the Dining Room, I had to make a Kitchen. This is honestly, one of my favorite rooms in the house. If you have ever seen one of my decorating disasters that I call spaces, you will notice that all I use for a Kitchen is the GZ Commercial Kitchen set mixed with the Mydeco Kitchen counter. Although these don’t look too bad in my Harbor Studio, I have always longed for a Kitchen that I could be proud of. Not long ago, Veemee released a few very nice Kitchen sets, but to be honest, I just can’t convince myself that $8.99 is worth it. So when I saw that GZ was selling this Built-in Kitchen 5-piece set for only $1.99, I almost had a coniption fit. I’m already planning on redoing the spaces I’ve already done! At least the Kitchen part anyways.

If the cabinets weren’t enough, I also splurged for the 3- piece Black Kitchen Counter set as well. This will come in handy in a lot of my spaces, but for this space I only used the U shape counter and set up an eat-in kitchen. In here, I chose not to add carpet but I did hang up curtains.

The main bathroom is another one of my favorite rooms in the Penthouse. It comes almost fully furnished, but they did leave you a little room for creativity. When you walk in, you will notice the wash sink on your left complete with mirror and towel rack. On your right, you will find the controls. Here you can choose to add the mat or not. The towel rack on the wall is also built-in. On the cabinet to the right you will see the Luxurious Wash Basin that you can get for free by visiting the store in this space.

In the next room, you will find a nice Jacuzzi, already hot and ready to use. The steam is a really nice feature and the spout continously pours water. Observer Screenshot 10_33 AM 2_6_2013_2

Now here comes the fun part; the shower is located next to the Jacuzzi and if you activate it, it will spray water. No more stinky avatars! Your avatar can now take a shower! Located below the shower is a Luxurious Bath chair that you can get for free by visiting the store located in this space. In the back is where the toilet is located. Simply add the toilet by using the settings to the right. There is no option for a mat in this room, so I simply added one I already have from the Lockwood set.

Located at the end of the hallway you will find the Bedroom. Since my avatar doesn’t really watch too much television, unless she’s alone, I chose to put the one in here. This room can hold up to six pictures, but I doubt you will find a use for them all. It is a great feature nonetheless, because you can move your furniture around without having to worry about covering up your picture slots.

I chose to carpet this room as well and hung up curtains in the large windows.

Beside the Bedroom, is the Great Room. Although you could use this for your Bedroom, I believe this space is best used for entertaining. It is large enough to fit a few couches, a piano and even an easel for when your in the mood for painting.

You have the ability to hang four pictures in this room but I chose to only hang two and this lovely out of place shelf with books sitting on it. Obviously, these books are only for looking at, because it would be a pain to have to reach that high if you had the notion to read.

Before I chose to put carpet in this room, I went with my favorite oriental rug from Hellfire Games. Later, I gave in and put carpet down, either way I think the two rugs complement each other nicely.

Just as the bedroom has large windows, the Great Room has them on two sides. If I truly lived in this Penthouse, I would most likely spend 99 percent of my time in this room.

Observer Screenshot 10_31 AM 2_6_2013_2

Out on the balcony there is plenty of room to put decorative items, furniture and recreational items.

Observer Screenshot 10_31 AM 2_6_2013_1

No matter where you stand, the view is always lovely.

If I had to rate this space, I would honestly have to say that it is my all time favorite space. Even if you didn’t want to purchase a lot of the deco items, you could truly enjoy this space for as little as $3.49 + $1.49 (toilet). Five dollars is a heck of a deal. It even beats out the Neptune Suite, which I never thought would happen, but the Neptune Suite will always hold a special place in my heart. It was a first of it’s kind, just like the Penthouse is a first of it’s. I have a feeling 2013 will bring us even more exciting items and spaces.

Thank you Granzella for such a lovely, elegant space.
