Top 20 PSN Games for Halloween 2011

Everyone celebrates Halloween differently, hell some people do not even celebrate it at all.  Some of the more popular ways is to trick or treat, decorate their house and yard, have a party, or to watch a variety of horror movies.  I am offering a list of some great survival horror games.  Some are scary, some funny, and some just weird but overall they are all fun to play in the dark.

All of the games in the following list can be found in the PSN Store.

1.  Silent Hill – The original PS1 game is available for download, also there is Silent Hill Origins for PSP.

2.  Resident Evil Series – Almost the whole series is available on PSN.  All but 3 PlayStation games are downloadable, they are Dead Aim and Outbreak 1 & 2.

3.  Parasite Eve – Both 1 & 2 PS1 classics can be found as well as The Last Birthday, which is a PSP title.

4.  InFamous 2:  Festival of Blood – Originally this was announced as add on content, but it is a stand alone game.  Now if you do have infamous 2 your game saves do carry over it, but you do not have to actually own the game to play this.  Infamous 2 is awesome, and infamous 2 with vampires is just epic.

5.  Hysteria Project 1 & 2 – These are mini games that can be played on both PSP and PS3.  Very creepy and definitely worth checking out.

6.  Legacy of Kain:  Soul Reaver – One of a few games dealing with vampires.  Legacy of Kaine is a PS2 classic.

7.  Wolfenstein – I have always had a place in my heart for the Wolfenstein games.  Got to love the old first person shooter classics.

8.  Siren Blood Curse – Siren was a very interesting game and I was pleasantly surprised when they came out with this sequel.  It does come as a whole or you can buy/download them chapter by chapter.

9.  Bloodrayne: Betrayal – This game is fairly new to PSN, came out just about a month ago.  First in the Bloodrayne series to be a side-scroller.  Also, the graphics are a bit like Anime.  It’s a fun game, however it is pretty hard.

10.  Dead Nation – A nice zombie apocalypse game that can be played in co-op with a friend or online.

11.   Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime – The 2nd Ghostbusters game but this one is on PSN.  you can play solo or with up to 4 people in online co-op.

12.  Castlevania: Harmony of Despair - Play the classic Castlevania game along with 4 others in online co-op.

13.  Zombie Apocalypse - A zombie apocalypse game that actually goes by that exact name.  Play with up to 4 others in online multiplayer and compete for the highest score or fight together as one to survive.

14.  Dead Block – Yet another zombie apocalypse game, this time there is a bit of a twist.  The game play is similar to Call of Duty Zombies because your trapped and trying to defend your location.  Boarding up windows and setting traps as well as wielding weapons to defend yourself if there is a breach.

15.  The Last Guy – This was originally a Japan game that was imported to the NA PSN store.  you are a hero who’s job it is to round up as many people who survived the zombie onslaught.

16.  Burn Zombie Burn – A comical twist on another zombie apocalypse game.  Survive till the end, or as long as you can as more and more zombies come after you.

17.  Ugly Americans:  Apocalypsegeddon – Based on the TV show of the same name.  You play one of the characters on the show and fight your way through hordes of many of the monsters that are occupying New York.

18.  Costume Quest – A great little roleplaying game that came out October of 2010.  Play a kid at halloween who wants to go trick or treating but ends up having to fight against Goblins who are set to steal all the candy.

19.  MediEvil – This was a fun game from the PS1 days.  A hero is ressurected and has to fight through hordes of monsters and enemies to survive.

20.  Plants Versus Zombies – A funny game that originated on mobile devices but came to PSN.  Grow your garden as you also protect yourself from a zombie horde.  Using a variety of plants grow your defenses and offenses.
